Sure, the remake seems serious, but not as serious as your angst about it.

It’s a fucking movie. In the age of budgets the size of small countries’ economies, you gotta be super serious, even if being super serious means pissing off folks, because pissed off folks are impressions, and perhaps even ticket sales.

In most cases I'd watch the reboot/remake to give it the benefit of the doubt, but I don't think I can do that with this one. It's just too sacred and everything I've seen thus far tells me that the new one would just make me angry.

I think the idea of a teaser for a trailer is a bit overkill, but don’t really have a beef with this one in particular. The problem is that the original is really well done - good writing, casting, chemistry, etc. It will be hard to match.

Here’s my deal: You and I disagree on some matters. But, I respect your opinions and I like your company. I was being a bit of a dick, but mostly because I thought you could handle it. I was happy to let this be a comment thread in a silly post about Ghostbusters. When you go and use your Oppo mod powers to make my shit disappear, we have gone political. You’ve taken my voice from me. Now we have a bigger issue on our hands. You are being un-excellent, and un-excellent with a degree of authority which I do not have. If you want to play that angle, that’s fine, but it’s inconsistent with what the stated aims of Oppo are.

Just a point of clarification, dismiss is not a mod exclusive power, i wouldnt use my mod authority like that, i think thats pretty shitty. you can check with the other mods if you like as im on record as being firmly against lone rangers and for a concessus opinion when it comes to mod powers. I lost all hope when I saw the cast. Original Ghostbusters worked so well because the members had such a chemistry - they’d worked with each other on multiple occasions before and were very complementary. This new cast, they’re just funny people. Funny people and Chris Hemsworth.
